Some thoughts on Coronavirus and live entertainment

Freshwater Events responds to Coronavirus

We produce events and provide live entertainment for groups of all sizes. The health and safety of our patrons, artists, and technical crew is our top priority. Freshwater Events will continue to monitor and evaluate planned events and follow recommended guidelines from state health experts. This may include cancelling or postponing large events. Your understanding and grace are greatly appreciated.

ATTENDEES

Here are some of the things we will be doing this spring and summer in our endeavor to help protect performers and audiences from risk.

Your health and well-being matter. No Coronavirus outbreaks have been reported in northern Michigan to date, but we intend to exercise an abundance of caution. Two of the most important strategies promoted by world health authorities appear to be social distancing and hand washing. We will encourage more open space between people, smaller audiences, and limit physical contact with others. We will also offer hand-sanitizers at all of our events. If indicated we will have medical teams at event entry points assessing attendees for symptoms and/or elevated body temperatures. If an individual appears to be symptomatic with COVID-19, we will respectfully deny them admission to the event. If you do not feel well, please stay home.

ENTERTAINERS

A Primer on the Health Hazards of Sharing Microphones

How often do you hear of concerts that are canceled because the featured performer had the flu, a cold or a throat problem? Did you ever wonder how they might have gotten sick? It happens, and now with the Coronavirus threat, we will be redoubling our efforts and will sanitize every touch surface on our equipment before and after every performance. When indicated, we will have hand sanitizer near the stage for performers. We will encourage performers to minimize close personal interactions with the audience. Our crew will be instructed in personal washing and cleaning protocols. We will also ask our stage and audio crews to minimize the handling/touching of your gear/equipment, and wear latex gloves when appropriate. We will assess performers for coronavirus symptoms and/or elevated body temperatures. If you are sick. Please stay home and let us know that you won't be able to perform. We will understand.

We have always kept out microphones and other equipment clean and sanitized. Please click this link to read more about Freshwater Events best  practices http://freshwaterevents.com/node/53
