15 August | The Jimmys

7:30p to 10pm | Filling Station Microbrewery MAP

Freshwater Events and the Filling Station were able to score a tour stop in Traverse City this Thursday. These guys are amazing. Let's show them some Traverse City Blues Music enthusiasts love.

Over the past seven years The Jimmys have solidified their brand of Blues and R&B across the Midwest, Canada, Europe and the Caribbean. Led by multiple award-winning keyboardist/organist Jimmy Voegeli, the band has been named a “festival favorite” in numerous reviews and magazines.

“The Jimmys are one hard act to follow at a blues festival... they've got it all: songs, musicianship and showmanship. Great Guys. Great sounds!
-Tinsley Ellis, Recording Artist

Killer horns, greasy guitars, funky keys, and a rhythm section with a heart and soul the size of Braszil. This is a GREAT band that plays blues and everything else in between. Get ready for The Jimmys!"
-Bryan Lee, Braille Blues Daddy

“The Jimmys are one of the summer festival season's top 10 acts
-Arnold Goodman, Elmore Magazine

Blues Blast Magazine nominees for 2016 Best Contemporary Blues Album of the Year - "Hot Dish"

2017 Best Live Blues Album of the Year - "Live from Transylvania"

With Voegeli is an all-star rhythm section of Mauro Magellan (Georgia Satellites) drums; John Wartenweiler (The Crashers) bass; and the blues veteran Perry Weber (Hubert Sumlin) on guitar.

Their unique sound is capped off with Wisconsin’s best horn section featuring Pete Ross (Glenn Miller Orchestra) saxophone; Mike Boman (Youngblood Brass Band) trumpet; and Kevan Feyzi (Orquesta Latin Pride) trombone. These three honed their skills over the years playing with the original Funky Drummer himself, Clyde Stubblefield.

"The Jimmys continue climbing charts and blazing new trails, leaving smiling faces and dazzled crowds wherever they go."
